Preserving and Maintaining Civil War Cemeteries

Event Date

April 5, 2:00pm - 4:00pm

Event Details

With over 150 years since the close of the Civil War, many Civil War veterans are forgotten. Numerous veterans of the four-year conflict have no gravestone to mark their final resting place, while other soldiers’ grave markers are in disrepair. This presentation will give attendees all the information they need to help past veterans--one grave marker at a time.

Ms. Cobb will also discuss how she plans free historical events for her community and how she has worked in cemetery preservation and maintenance.

This is a joint program of the Tri-State Genealogical Society and Willard Library, presented by Kassidy Cobb, a genealogist, history enthusiast, and college freshman majoring in history with plans to minor in military history.

This program will serve as the April TSGS meeting.
