The Mann Site: A Hopewell-Period Ceremonial Earthworks in Posey County, A.D. 200-500

The Mann Site is an important world archaeological venue near Mt. Vernon, Indiana. Added to the National Historic Register of Historic Places in 1974, it once functioned as a trading hub of the Hopewell culture. Dr. Michael Strezewski, Associate Professor of Anthropology at the University of Southern Indiana, will discuss some of the artifacts that have been unearthed there in recent decades.
Hosted by the Southwestern Indiana Historical Society, this program is free and open to the public. Reservations are appreciated to ensure sufficient seating.
