Dementia Friends of Indiana

Event Date

January 27, 6:00pm - 7:00pm

Event Details

Join a growing movement that is changing the way people think, act, and talk about dementia. Initially developed by the Alzheimer’s Society in the United Kingdom, the Dementia Friends initiative is now making its way across the United States. By helping everyone in a community understand what dementia is and how it affects families, each of us can make a difference for people touched by dementia.

Linda Wright, Community Transitions Supervisor at SWIRCA & More, will lead this one-hour information session. Attendees will learn what dementia is and what it’s like to live with the disease. Wright will also share strategies for communicating and assisting fellow community members living with dementia --- a little support can make a big difference in the lives of others!
