Attention all writers and art enthusiasts! Willard Public Library is thrilled to announce our Short Story Contest, where your words can come to life inspired by works of art. Dive into the world of creativity by choosing an art piece prompt or exploring the extensive art book section at WPL. Let your imagination soar and craft a captivating short story that brings the artwork to life in a way only you can imagine!
?️ How to Participate:
- Select an art prompt below or explore the art book section at WPL for inspiration.
- Write a short story inspired by the chosen artwork. Let your creativity flow, and weave a tale that captures the essence of the art piece.
- Submit your masterpiece by the November 30 to be considered for the contest.
✨ Submission Guidelines:
- Word Limit: Maximum 5,000 words.
- Deadline: 5:30pm CST on Thursday, November 30
- Submission Email: Send your short story to willard@willard.lib.in.us with the subject line “Short Story Contest Submission – [Your Name]” or feel free to submit a printed copy of your story in person at the Adult Services desk.
- Include: Your name, contact information, and the title and/or artist of the piece of art that inspired you.

? Prizes:
Willard Library staff will vote on their favorite short story, and the winner of the contest will receive a brand-new typewriter style Bluetooth keyboard to fuel their future writing endeavors! Additionally, the winning writer will be given the opportunity to share their work on Willard Public Library’s social media pages, reaching a wider audience and showcasing their talent to the world.
