Evansville Streets & Buildings

The Evansville Streets & Buildings Index contains annotated information about the residences and commercial buildings on various Evansville city streets. Through this index, researchers can access miscellaneous historic information about property addresses in the city, past and present, from the mid-1800's to the late-1990's. Additional, more extensive information may be located in the manuscript collections of Willard Library's Archives.

This index was created and is provided free of charge by Willard Library, Vanderburgh County's best source for genealogy and local history information. The index was prepared through a bequest from the late Deborah Marchand, specifically made to the Willard Library Archives to support her mother, Joan C. Marchand's, research.

The Evansville Streets & Buildings Index is part of the Joan C. Marchand Collection, donated to Willard Library with the assistance of Joan's daughter, Deborah Marchand, in 1997, after her mother's death. Joan C. Marchand worked in the Historic Preservation Office of the City of Evansville from 1978 to 1996, when she retired as Historic Preservation Officer. Marchand authored numerous publications on Evansville's history and architecture, and was the recipient of several awards, including the Historic Landmarks Foundation of Indiana Servaas Award in 1995. She was also a longtime member of the Friends of Willard Library.
